Hi - there have been times I would like to autoate the extraction some of the information from the inventory or propertiies information the SQL database has for the computers. For example, I had to install MS VISIO in a lab. Since this involves activating the product with a key after it has been installed (couldn't think of a way to do this through Ghost) I had a student manually do this. She could do machines that had students on them so I would like to find all the machines in the lab that has the software installed. One way I thought of was to runa script and save the output back on the express share.
Any hints on how to access the database to get the information? Any security to deal with like a login name and password?
Also any ideas of installing software with keys not accessible in a quiet msi install would be appreciated.
